Terms of Service
Last updated: April 23, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of islaelectronics.com and your purchase of products from Isla Electronics. By using this site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
About Us
“Isla Electronics”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Isla Electronics, a business trading in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at [email protected].
Orders and Contract Formation
When you place an order on this site you’re making an offer to buy. A contract between us is formed only when we accept your order — typically when we send a shipping confirmation email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order before dispatch (for example, if a listed price is clearly incorrect, if we can’t verify payment, or if stock is unavailable). In any such case we’ll refund in full.
Order confirmation emails are automatic and do not, on their own, form a contract.
Prices and Payment
- Prices are shown in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated and may change without prior notice.
- Prices shown exclude any import duties or taxes that may apply on delivery outside the UK — these are the customer’s responsibility.
- Payment is processed through Shopify Payments. We never see or store your card details directly.
- Orders must be paid in full before dispatch.
Shipping and Delivery
Delivery times shown at checkout are estimates. We dispatch from the UK and use trusted carriers, but we can’t guarantee exact transit times — especially for international orders, which may be delayed by customs clearance.
Risk of loss passes to you on delivery. If an order arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days with photos and we’ll sort it.
Returns, Refunds, and Warranty
Our returns and warranty terms are set out in full on our Returns & Refunds page — 14-day return window, 1-year hardware warranty, plus your statutory rights under UK and applicable EU consumer law.
Firmware, Software, and Digital Content
Isla firmware and first-party software. Firmware for our hardware and any software we author ourselves (for example, updaters and proprietary editors) are licensed, not sold. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them with your own Isla Electronics hardware. You may not redistribute, resell, or reverse-engineer them, except as permitted by law.
Sample packs and presets. Sample packs, kits, and preset libraries we publish are licensed for use in your own music productions, including commercial releases. You may not resell or redistribute the raw content (the samples, preset files, or kits themselves) as a sample pack, sound library, or similar product.
Third-party and open-source tools. Some tools we host or link to — including the S2400 Kit Creator, the SF2LV2 plugin generator, and other DSP plugins — are third-party or open-source projects. Your use of those is governed by their own licences (for example, GPL, MIT, or the upstream project’s terms). We make them available as a convenience; we don’t claim ownership over them, and the upstream licence applies.
User Accounts
If you create an account you’re responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for anything that happens under your account. If you think your account has been compromised, email us and we’ll help secure it.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the site or our products for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, customer accounts, or infrastructure.
- Abuse our support system with spam, bulk submissions, or automated scraping.
- Post content to our community spaces (reviews, forum) that is defamatory, infringing, or harmful.
Reviews and User Content
When you submit a review or forum post you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on our site and related materials. You retain ownership of your content. We reserve the right to moderate, reject, or remove any content that breaches these Terms.
Intellectual Property
All first-party content on this site — text, images, videos, logos, product designs, and our own firmware and software — is owned by Isla Electronics or our licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright, trademark, and design laws. Third-party and open-source tools we distribute remain the property of their respective authors under their own licences (see the Firmware, Software, and Digital Content section above). You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not copy, reproduce, or commercially exploit our content without our written permission.
Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (including your statutory rights as a consumer).
Subject to the above, our total liability arising from any single order or use of this site is limited to the price paid for the products in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
Third-Party Links and Services
Our site links to and integrates with third-party services (Shopify checkout, Cloudflare hosting, Resend email, Discourse community, Google Analytics). Their use is governed by their own terms and privacy policies; we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data, including how long we keep it and who else processes it on our behalf.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version applies from the “last updated” date at the top. Orders placed before a change are governed by the Terms in force at the time of the order.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, without affecting any mandatory rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
